Susa and I went to a Whiskey Dinner at Sláinte Oakland, a pub located at Jack London Square in Oakland, CA. Along with a very good dinner, we got to sample 6 whiskeys from West Cork Distilleries. The last one was a singlemalt aged in oak casks that had been charred by burning bog oak inside the barrels to char them. Very good! Somewhat like Laphroaig with a bit less smoke and a bit more sweetness.
Well, my paternal grandmother was a Delaney. And Ian Black left Glendarule in 1700 for Northern Ireland and then to the Carolina s the next generation.
