Greetings!

My name is Alan Heeren.  (My birth name is Alan White).

I have recently become interested in my family heritage.  I was adopted early in my life and my last name was changed to Heeren.  During some of my Internet searches it would seem that I may be of Scottish heritage if in fact my "White" last name would be associated with the Clan Lamont.  This interests me greatly.

Is there anyone who could guide me in to great websites or pages that would allow me to further trace my heritage back to Scotland?  I believe that such sites as ancestry.com may be useful but I don't wish to pay a monthly fee if I didn't have to.

Thank you for your help and I'm glad to be here in any sense!

Welcome to the site, I am a adoptee also and I know it can be a rough road ahead.

I have found my mothers family and I have verified it with DNA. Still looking for my fathers side
