Hello, I have traced my family to the 1800's in the Dumfries/Galloway area - Stranraer, Ayr, Wigtown, Sorbie are some places that they lived up until 1911 - then they emigrated to the US - I was told that we were Lamonts, not sure.   If there aare any others of you that might have some info, I am all ears, thanks!  Susan

Welcome Sue. For sure the Brown is a possible Lamont. I can look into the otherd. Ayr is the home to many Lamonts who left Cowal for safety in the mid 1600s
