I was talking with a guy selling items with clan coat of arms with a brief history of the clan and he said that our coat of arms is only the hand, helmet, and shield.  he was telling me that the two gents with clubs that we have on the web page is not correct.

can someone clear my muddy waters?  confuse

According to Scottish Heraldry the one you refer belongs only to Peter Lamont as the Chief of the Clan as recognized by the Lord Lyon. We can show it as it is the personal arms of the chief but using it in a sales or other endeavor is forbidden and against the law (in Scotland). It must be identified as such and in truth we are wrong unless we qualify the display. Hope this helps.

We as clan members can wear and display with pride the portion of the personal arms (hand, etc) with the belted loop declaring allegiance to the chief. This can be used with penalty just as we could wear a sprig of crab apple in our bonnet identifying us as Lamonts.

So as a informational document to display some of the clan images as clan crest and coat of arms would it be ok if I listed it as our

Clan Chief Father Peter Noel Lamont coat of arms, he is our 29th Chief of Clan Lamont

That's correct. It belongs to him and must be identified as such. There is no problem displaying it and explaining to visitors the relationship between the Chief's personnel coat of arms and the clan badge which using a portion (in our case the dexter hand) with the buckle to show our allegiance.
