I ran across a website yesterday when looking for a copy of The Lamont clan, 1235-1935 – by McKechnie. They basically get old, out of print and copyright genealogy books and scan them as PDF files. The cost to download a single book is $3.99. The Lamont book is 704 pages in length and has color photos where the original did. The file size is 184MB.

Other books in their listing cover the following names: Black, Blake, Blakey, Brown, Lamb, Lambe, Lamont, Lamson, Licas, Lucky, Patton, Turner and White.

I bought a 1 year unlimited download account for $29.99 and downloaded 25 books yesterday on branches of my family or areas where they lived.

Their website is:  https://www.historybookcorner.com/ and is worth taking a look at!

I just tried the site www.historybookcorner.com/ and Norton flagged it as dangerous site. When I clicked to go there anyway, the page does not exist.

Hello Richard and Welcome, that page probably does not exist any longer as the original post was made in January of 2013.

if you are looking for the big book search for "Hector McKechnie clan Lamont 1235 1935".

How far back have you been able to trace your genealogy?

The History Book Corner is in Waxhaw, NC. They do not seem to have a website any longer.
