Thank you as well Tom. How would one join Clan Lamont ? My ancestry so far is traced to John J Luckey born in NY 1859. I need to visit the cemetery where he is interred for more information. I have not as yet attended any such gatherings. I have been invited but unable to travel to them.

Greetings to another Luckey. I certainly will extend another welcome to you to join our Clan Lamont Society. You can probably count on one hand the Luckey's that are members of Clan Lamont Society of NA.

One interesting note is that our Clan Chief, Father Peter Lamont's flag bearer is a Luckey living in Australia.

I see you listed a little information on your Luckey genealogy. Under the genealogy section in this forum I have listed some information on a Robert Luckey of Lancaster Co. PA. early 1700's, I believe I may be descended from, but cannot prove it.

Will be glad to discuss Clan Lamont or Luckey genealogy with you.

Please join us, we are a friendly bunch. As far as I know I am the only Luckey that has tested his Y-DNA with Family Tree DNA, I will share thoughts on that also

If you have any questions let us know. We respond pretty quick. Look for gatherings in your area. If you read through the forum you'll see inputs from those who attend or are planning to be there.

Not slow! Just efficient because you make fewer mistakes that way- ha ha. Glad to have you on board in both places. Anything we can do to help let us know. Bet you can't wait to wear a Lamont Kilt above your gillie brouges. The pipes sound so much better that way.

Agreed ! Kilts and bagpipes have a way of making me thirsty. I have a kilt, worn on certain holidays but not the Lamont tartan. As close as I could get to it though.

A good single malt in the mountains has a way of curing your thirst. It has been a bit warm out here 108 degrees lately. We do have 8000 foot mountains only 30 minutes away to get away from it. I suppose you are wearing a Black Watch which is very close. Any kilt is good as long as it is not a Campbell. Keep chatting and stay in touch. Again anything we can do just ask.
