There has been many histories about Lamont septs but it has been hard to find out much about Lucas. I would like to hear from members with the name Lucas about your family history. My tracing of the my family starts with Lt. William Lucas, an officer in the revolution, but I cannot get any information before him. His son traveled to Mississippi and my grandfather moved to Arkansas. All of my ancestors after Lt. Lucas are buried in the same cementary near Ethel, MS. Let me where you came from.

There is a ton of info on the McLucas in the book - Lamont Clan 1235 - 1935 by McKechnie

The Scot shop has a couple of new ones left or you usually can find one used on Amazon or such.  an alternative spelling is McLugas or McLugashes

one place name is Garrachorran where I see them mentioned a lot. This is located on the Knockdow property so maybe some sort of connection to the McGorrie Lamonts of Knockdow

Dick I did not recognize you, sorry. Have you considered the DNA testing? We can talk about it when I see you in Montana. I just signed up for the Hamilton games

Great, I look forward to seeing you in Montana, it is going to be a really good festival. Be sure to make time to see the Dailey mansion and hear the story. Hidden Legend Winery (they make mead) is another good stop.

Looks like I need to add an extra day to the trip.
