Any Lamb families out there?

My Great Great Grandfather Charles Lamb is my connection to the Lamonts. I'd be interested in sharing family names with other Lamb decendants.

We have lots of Lamb families on the membership roster although of those few are forum users. We have Lambie's too. It will be interesting to see how this thread unfolds. If you don't get many responses in the next few days I can reach out to the via e-mail for you.

I'll take any information you can give. I've only been able to track our Lamb roots back to
William Lamb - b 8/10/1820 NC, d 8/11/1884 Cotton Gin, Freestone County, Texas (where a large number of our family had lived) William was married to Elizabeth Boyd. Past that all I have is that his father (first name unknown) was possibly born in Virginia in 1795.

Yes,I am a Lamb,on my fathers side,His name is Harry Lamb Jr,my grandfater was Harry Lamb Sr,and died in the mid 1980's.I know he had a brother named James Lamb,Asister who lived in California named Dottie Lamb,and a brother names Merlin Lamb,who also lived in Pennsylvania.I'm going to talk to my father this week and see if I can gather up anymore information as to great grandparents,etc,to fill in these gaps.Its very frustrating,because my grandfather told me the Lambs were Scotch Irish,and I feel like I am chasing my tail.Anyone have anyinformation on Lambs from Pennsylvania?ashamed

Me too, however;
I am from Australia. I've researched our family back to Newtyle, Dundee and Forfar areas in Scotland. My Great Grand Father Thomas Galloway Lamb came to Australia early 1900's with then wife and 1 son (my grandfather). My grandparents had 2 boys, George and Robert. George had one daughter and Robert had 6 boys and 3 girls. I am one of those 3 daughters.

How wonderful to find my Lamont clan.

Welcome aboard the Clan Lamont and to the Lamb (ies). The Clan Chief Peter Noel Lamont lives in Australia. I'll do some digging to find out more for you. Ancestry loves me.

Hi Don,

I recently joined the Clan Lamont Society as a lifetime member after tracing back my roots; although there is mention and Clan tartan material in an old bible.  Our Lambs just had not been motivated to pursue the tie back to the Clan until my recent interest.  For a quick start, my memory is that my Lambs were on an Iowa farm, with one of the sons (my grandfather Emmett Lamb) migrating out to California.  Now we are in the Northwest; including Washington and Oregon.

I have a written document from a great aunt who wrote down what Lamb history she was aware of...it is quite a long direct line of Lambs I believe back to the revolutionary war and were located in several states over the generations.  I am in a busy time period right now with A PhD test, but when things quiet down in a couple months I will try and find the document and provide as much as I can on those Lambs.  It may or may not help you.  There were often 6 or 8 children for many of the generations.

Thanks, Ann-Marie Lamb

Hello,

My mother was a Lamb and we have been able to trace our Lamb tree back to the early 1700's here in the United States. I would be happy to share the information with you. You can contact me via lyndiatxaz@aol.com.
