Got an email from Richard Lucas - photos to follow after his trip. The plaque is sure making the rounds of the world. He wanted me to post this so you all could hear about the trip

 
The plaque got a late start on its way to Jackson Hole but has enjoyed two days of a history tour of the old west. It stopped at Fort Supply, OK to have its picture taken inside the 1868 guardhouse. It then stopped at Fort Dodge to its picture taken in from  of the Custer home. Matt Dillon was not around Dodge City so we passed the city. It wanted to have its picture taken while I straddled the Arkansas rive at Dodge but the river was completely dry. It did get its picture taken at the stockyards. The plaque stopped on the Santa Fe trail to have a picture made where it saw some wagon ruts on the old trail. It then followed the Santa Fe trail for many miles on into Colorado where it spent the night. so far the wagon train has not been attacked by hostile Indians although it has seen signs of them. Most of the signs are brown with English lettering but it has seen signs written in a language it could not read. It got excited when it passed through Kit Carson, CO. But did no get its picture taken there. It had a good time this morning traveling the back roads where it saw antelope, prairie dogs, cowboys on four wheelers, coyote and miles of sunflower. The plaque expects to arrive in Jackson tomorrow and will keep you posted. Oh it did enjoy the 64 degree temperature last night but it was warm wrapped its maroon towel.

another update from the plaque and it's companion Dick Lucas. what a pair!

The plaque spent last night in Casper, WY in high winds. The camper rocked with gusts up to 40 MPH but the plaque never complained. It traveled today up through more prairie land to Shoshoni with a stop at Hells Half Acre. It then made its way up  through the beautiful Wind River valley with a stop at Crowheart. The plaque then traveled some of the prettiest land in the USA including 17 miles of mountainous road construction. The plaque became very excited when the Tetons came into view and to stop several times for pictures. The plaque then went skating in a buffalo herd but was  not injured. It is now resting getting ready for the highland games Saturday here in Jackson, WY.

and even more from Richard and further adventures of the plaque

The plaque arrived in Jackson, WY without any problems. The plaque watched while Chris and I set up out vendor tent was ready for the festival. It is a small festival with only three clan tents but lots of pipe bands and dancers. The plaque was able to enlist the help of a full contact re-enactor group to attack the Campbell clan tent. The picture of the Campbell holding the plaque was part of the surrender agreement. The re-enactors were about to execute the Campbells when they agreed to buy something from my tent so we let them go. The plaque then got a volunteer piper to it while I took a picture of the festival grounds. The plaque the next day took a tour of downtown Jackson and posed under the famous arch of Elk horns. As we planned to head out for Montana the truck broke down so we now waiting for the truck to be repaired and hope to continue tomorrow.
