Thought Amy and I would check out the Plano location of Trinity Hall.

Four stars for food, very much American versions of traditional irish dishes. Decor was 5 stars, unlike so many other themed places this one was not over decorated with clutter. Service was five stars, very attentive and when the waiter was busy the manager took care of us. Bar was 5 stars as they have one of the best selections of Scotches I've seen out side fancy places. Overall 4 1/2 stars.
I had the chicken pot pie which had a great broth, good selection of veges (including mushrooms but not to much celery like many such dishes) and mash potatos under the puff pastry top. Amy had a burger which was a little over done but ok. Fries were hot and crisp.
Every night has a theme from Texas Holdum POker night to 1/2 price whiskey night. Live music Friday and Satuday nights. As mentioned they have a nice selection of whiskeys. I really like the sampler they have, you can get three 3/4 oz drinks of for tasting differances such as Macallan 12,15, & 18 oak or sherry barrels. They had several different samplers.

The breakfast menu. They also have a special Irish break fast with eggs, bangers, rashers, black & white pudding, and potatos. Not a meal for the light eater -
A few shots around -
As to be expected the pub rotates around aports, soccer (World Cup right now) and rugby. As you can see they actually have a seperate room for smokers. I don't begrudge someone smoking but when the smoke just drifts over the booth next door if can be distubing for Amy and I who don't smoke. Also I know whiskey and cigars are a popular combination but it's hard to contain the smell of them in a small area.
The bar collection. Sorry, I realized I didn't check out the beer selection but I'm not a beer drinker.
Scotch -
Irish -
American -
The drink menu -
Like I said a nice selection if you are a drinker. I occasionally have a bit.

I would like to make amends to the Trinty Hall. I got a nice email from the manager about my off the cuff remark about the whisky prices. I usually benchmark my opinions on my old standby - Oban. Many of the others are very reasonably priced and I failed to notice this. It is a fine list of single malts
Mea culpa or in gaelic - Tha mi duilich (I am sorry) and Gabh mo leisgeul (take my excuse or excuse me)
I suggest if we can get a gathering of the Lamonts together we meet there. I usually am just down the road in Plano.
sorry Maruis

I'm up for getting together. I just need to know in advance as (for someone with no life) Amy and I seem to have a very full calendar at times. Go figure.
