Hello from New Zealand

My name is Zoe Lamb, I am new to this site and am very interested in finding out more of my family history. I have recently been gifted a Lamont crested china cup and a beautiful wool scarf in matching colour. Scarf made in Inverness and so lovely soft, waiting for the colder months to be worn. Upon doing a little internet research I found this page and joined, so hopeful to turn up some contacts and information. Thank you. Zoe

Hello George

Thank you for acknowledging and accepting my application, I am pleased to be a part of the forum.

It seems that 'Zoe' is a popular name in this modern day.

I have also searched the database for another family name which does not appear to be registered to any of the clans; "McLeod" being my great great grandfather being on my fathers maternal side. I have only managed so far to find a few names in the family tree, these being only what my father can recall. I have also recently found documents dating back to WW1 of army service and discharge for several family members. These most likely are recorded in the war memorial museum. The documents are very tatty and the silverfish have been at them but for the most part they are in reasonable condition; kept in an old cabin trunk. My question at this point is; what can I do with these documents so that they do not go to waste and perish? In the interest of restoring and preserving documents of importance to the family history.

Kind Regards
Zoe Lamb
