Since it didn't pay to start up the kiln for just one knife so I worked at knocking out a couple more with my Father-in-laws knife. Just got two of the others done so I thought post them.
There wood working knives for marking instead of pencils. Top one is cocobola and the bottom one is kuri. They are sharpened to a single bevel.
I saw a similar knife being used once and though it was a very usefull tool to have.
But there's a problem here. I know as a knife maker you want your knives to be usefull and used. The problem is that you make them far to beautiful. I used mine once, I think I cut myself with it, so it is used.
Seriously Jim, those are really something to look at.
Sir: You are a true Mastercraftsman when it comes to wood and steel. Outstanding workmanship on both knives, I'm sure your Father-in-law will appreciate the gifts.
These are actually extras. I did five at the same time since it doesn't pay to start my kiln for one. His is still needing finishing. I got one with some of the USS Constitution wood for the handles and is a little smaller due to his smaller hands. He will appreciate the wood as he is former Navy as well.
These two (with the other two still pending handles) will end up for sale later.
