All the clans marched up the Royal Mile to the Castle. This was one of the highlights of the weekend for me. The streets were lined with people cheering us on. Never has so much tartan been in Edinburgh

Here is the beginning when we were still in formation and under control

The dutch pipe band

if you look closely you can see the US contingent

the parade begins, notice the unique set of pipes. It took about an hour to get to the Lamont portion of the alphebet.

The crowd loved us , in front of the Whiski Bar we had a short stop and we got replenished with water of life.

it was great seeing all this Lamont tartan

the end of the evening at the castle stadium where they do the Tattoo they had a presentation about the evolution of the Scots in a very artful dramatic manner.

maybe I sobered up but it seemed like a halftime at the Superbowl, I wanted to hit the fridge

Couldn't have been half-time...no wardrobe malfunctions.  biggrin

Great pics.   With Steve walking to and fro looking for good photo opportunities, I think he walked twice as far as the rest of us.

Thanks George and Steve; pleasant memories!

Thanks for uploading and sharing these!  Great to see all that Lamont tartan together in one place -- especially Edinburgh!  :)
