Hello everyone!  My name is Patrick Douglas Turner.  My fathers parents came to the United States in the 1940's from Juniper Green, Edinburgh, Scotland.  My grandmother (Martha More) is from the Lindsay Clan and my grandfather was Sam Barr Turner.  My mother is also 50% Scottish and 50% Irish.

I live in Orlando, Florida with my wife of 11 years and two sons, Douglas and Logan.  We also have a 110 lb yellow lab named Obiwan.  As I mentioned above my grandfathers middle name was Barr which is in nearly all of my family's middle names (Lindsay, Dirk, Scot, Andrea, Cynthia, Morag, etc) but not mine.  I guess my mom was not to crazy about it.

As I have been getting a bit older (and wiser) I have become more interested in my heritage and Scottish history.  I am glad I found this forum.  I am surprised that the forum did not have the name Patrick already however if this is a glitch I will be happy to change my forum name since I am new.  That's all!  Have a great day!

welcome Patrick

I am glad Patrick is your first name and not your last name, we have about 6 millions Patricks as a surname here. We would have had to change the name from Lamont to Patrick if oe more showed up,  haha

hope you enjoy your visits

Patrick, welcome to the forum.  As a non-Patrick myself, I really do concur with Knockdow on this.  We really do need to cull the herd somehow.  biggrin

Thanks all! I use to hate the name Patrick since no one ever had it but eventually I grew to love that no one had it. I did know a guy named Patrick Fitzpatrick. I always wondered if they were cruel or lost a bet?

Hi Patrick,

We Patricks welcome you to the Patrick Central Forum (excuse me I meant Lamont  Central Forum).

The rest of those guys are jealous because we Patricks always take the new Patrick forum members over to the Cowal Tavern for a wee dram or two as soon as they arrive here.

Hi Patrick,

Don't listen to the boo's and hissing over Patrick's. They are just mad because we are so powerful within the Lamont's. You'll soon learn that the next biggest sept family in our Clan are the Turner's. Your coming in with a double whammy!

Welcome cousin! I'm gonna steal a line here but Patrick or not . . . "All for one and one for all! Lamont's stick together!"
