I recieved this commission to make a corner post for a gentlemans Man-Cave. He told me to include a woodspirits face, owl, Celtic Cross, and a heart with his wifes and his initials.
 Trying to stay with the celtic theme heres what I came up with,..enjoy:

I wrapped it up today, sanded, burned, stained, and laquered....FIN!! wheres my cabbage!!
I completed the carving part and decided to let it breath,

and maybe to the "turning" test.

I took it back and started to scorch it to raise the grain and give it some depth.

I also added a little accent paint to give more demention.

And here she is after a couple coats of laquer,




This has been a funn project, I like doing a bigger piece every once and awhile.

Thanks everyone, I hve been informed that the customer and his brother in law ( Donnie of Wyvern Sporrans) is coming to personally pick it up...He liked the pics,..and I am not tooting my own horn but it looks WAY better in person.
