I stopped by a local Scotch store the other day and found that they were selling bottles of Glenmorangie - The Original at $59.95. A bit steep as they normally go for $40 a bottle. The kicker was that they are 1.75 liter bottles! 4 to a case. We bought a case on the spot. Should last awhile.

you have stores that just sell whisky? 

never any sales at Washington state run liquor stores... also selection is limted and does not vary much.

Yes George, There are whisky stores in California. And they hold monthly tastings.

I also got to enjoy the 18 year old. We have a new taster in the group who is open to any of our requests. He purchased the 18 with a bonus check. Really good taste neat but even better with a drop of still water to open it up.
