Mary Lamb sent these photos of the manse today. Mary and her husband, Jim have done a lot of work restoring Manse located next to the Inverchaolain church. These photos are from Mary
Above is the front of the Manse and below is the back with a lovely cherry tree in full bloom. You can see the new roof has already been completed
and this must be the king of the manse, don't know the kittys name
This is the den downstairs, you might recognize this tartan
the stairs leading to the second floor

Here are some pic I took of the Inverchaolain church and the view across Loch Striven. I might be a little biased but this is a slice of heaven in my humble opinion.

This fall will start a new phase of the restoration of the Manse. Mary & Jim not only do a lot of the work, they get involved in the fund raising. See her newest quest below
CLAN LAMONT SOCIETY FUND RAISING INITIATIVE MANSE WINDOWS 2009
THE COWAL WAY
The Cowal way is a long distance walk of 90 KM. This is an interesting walk stretching from Portavadievia Ascog Castle right up the spine of Cowal taking in forests, waterfalls, shores of sea lochs and hill passes, rugged country full of wild life all the way to the finish at Inveruglas on Loch Lomond. The very heart of Lamont country.
President of the Society Robert Lamont & secretary Mary Lamb will undertake the gruelling 90KM walk over five days starting on the 16th October in an effort to help raise funds formuch needed windows for the manse, the home of Clan Lamont.
Robert and Mary will be looking for sponsors.
Mary & Robert, please know that CLSNA will do our part in helping preserve our heritage. I wish I could be there to participate in the walk.
