New to the forum, I think my family are descendants of the MacPhadrick of Couston, a cadet family of clan Lamonts. I live in Prunedale California, USA, by Monterey. I work for the Valley Transit Authority in San Jose Ca. Silicon Valley as a shop foreman on the Buses. I am interested in the history of the Patrick’s, Macphadrick’s and Lamonts.
Well that's true. We are quickly becoming a powerful sept family in the modern Clan Lamont. Welcome Dennis! Take some time and check out our thread in the "Sept Names History & Discussion" Forum. Under that there is a topic called "Patrick Family Sept".

Welcome, I'm glad that you have joined us here, it's great to have another Patrick in the crowd.
David, James and I are related, I am sure we will find your connection. The Patrick's are answering the Lamont call to arms and are assembling.
Knockdow will be interested in your lineage, be sure and visit his website, I'm sure he will be along shortly, you will find the link to his website at the end of his post.

Well here's my 2 cents worth. My MacPatrick ancestor had the middle name "Couston" and how much more "Cowal-ish" can you get ?? When my MacPatricks came through the Port of Charleston in 1711 the bloody English anglicised it to the common name Paterson and made them drop the Mac and made Patrick into Paterson. My last name,Whitfield, is from Northumberland and was Scottish several times during the Border Wars between the two counties. Yes, technically it is English but the BLOOD is oh so Scottish and Celtic. If you need proof, ask Ken Luckey...he knows! Ne parcas Nec Spernas!!
Its nice to have so many cousins to talk to, just think there are only 20,000 more Patrick families in the USA out there, let alone all the MacPatrick, KilPatrick, Patton, Paterson etc.
But wait! There's more! My wife has Patrick's in her line. The Patrick line was from Ireland. She spent a month in Ireland a couple of years ago and found that the Irish Patrick's came from Cowal in the 1600's. SO there is another batch of them lurking in Ireland.
A quick question, will you allow your wife to join the rest of us Patrick's when we make one of our trips to the Cowal Tavern? Usually we are a pretty well behaved bunch, on second thought, most of us are pretty well behaved.
Luckey, while you are tracing your Brown's, see if you can find my Brown's.
