Vincent Lamont here in Philadelphia, Pennslyvania. My grandfather was James Lamont from Coleraine, Co. Derry, N. Ireland. Our family was from Ballycastle, County Antrim, N. Ireland before Coleraine. And Scotland a few generations before my grandfather.

I am related to the late Bishop Donal Lamont of Ballycastle, County Antrim, N. Irleand. He was my grandfathers cousin.

It's great to 'meet' all of you! I look foward to hearing more news and geting to know the lot of you!

Best regards

Vincent Lamont

Jim

Thank you! I'm looking foward to learning and sharing topics of mutual interest. I really do have to get a kilt with the Lamont tartan colours. I was admiring Jim Lovelace's kilt, etc. Very classy looking!

Have a great day ahead, Jim. Thanks for saying hello!

All the best

Vincent

Hey Vince
glad you made it. When you get ready for that kilt, we can point you in the right direction. We all had lots of questions when we first started on our kilts

Excellent. How long does it usually take to get it once you order it, etc?

Thanks

It depends of course from who you get it from. Some kilt makers have a long backlog of orders. I would say 6 to 12 weeks is a good average.

Vince,

First of all, thanks for the compliments.

My Ancient Lamont kilt is made of 16 oz Lochcarron material, it is a nine yard kilt (we gentlemen of substance require additional fabric). It was made by Lochcarron and took eight to twelve weeks to make and ship.  I bought it from Matt Newsome at www.scottishtartans.org.  You can't go wrong with a Lochcarron kilt.

The secret to a good fit is getting the correct measurements.
