I just received a copy of McKechnie's The Lamont Clan 1235-1935 that I found on ebay from a seller on the Isle of Man. It is Number 104 of a 400 copy run published in 1938 and has a piece of Lamont tartan commissioned for this printing bound inside it. It is a really cool book. I had recently downloaded a pdf of this book that has a LOT if errors, i.e. all entries in Gaelic are garbled as are many dates and some letters. Also the graphics in the pdf are very low quality. It is really nice to have a clean copy without all the strange scan errors.

Hooray. I know there are hard copies out there to be found. I found a zeroxed copy years ago which I gave to Dan Lamont. It was a page by page one that someone had done. As you remember Michael I already had one with the same tartan inside. We are asked many times at the tents where to find them. Your search paid off. Patience is the key!

I had posted earlier that I found a digitized PDF of the book from Australia a few months ago. It is just OK, as the search function seems to be non-functional and there are a LOT of letters, especially those in Gaelic words that are unreadable. And the graphics are pretty bad, but the info IS there, if a bit hard to find at times.

The digital version I bought back in 2010 seems to be of good quality and is searchable.

The hard copies seem to best at the games as we don't always have modern technology with us. I really use it to ensure I get a nap. As soon as I pick it up my eyes go closed.
