Hi

The Rev John Brown of Haddington is my Great Grandfather a few removed.  Someone told me that he was Clan Lamont so I am wanting to check if this is correct.  None of the information I have found on-line mentions his clan so I thought this was the best place to start.  My Great Grandfather was William Wilson Brown who came to New Zealand in the late 1800s.

Welcome to the forum, I know there are a lot of Browns in the clan.

Maybe one of them with a lot of the research of the Brown sept will shed some light on it for you.
