Hey all, just wanted to give a formal introduction as I'm sure I'll be posting here a bit.
My name is JD McLucas and I'm from rural Pennsylvania. I've become very interested in the family's genealogy, which has led me here! It took a bit of research by myself and my brother, but we eventually figured out that we hailed from Clan Lamont (There was some confusion because of some MacDougall connections, but we got it sorted out).
A little about me: I hail from a small town in Pennsylvania where a large chapter of the McLucas family has lived for over a century. I'm a member of PA's local chapter of the 501st Legion (A charity costuming group based on Star Wars). I'm even working on a kilt rigging for my Stormtrooper costume so I can eventually wear the colors with the costume!
I really look forward in taking part in both the forums and CLSNA.
there are all sorts of ways to find your clan, I am a adoptee and I found my way thru DNA.
one of the clans here in the Fort Worth area has a young man that is in a Storm Trooper group. If you get a kilt to go with your costume it would be fun to see the pictures.
Welcome to a new member of Clan Lamont. Please take the time to join us at your earliest convenience. We have a new editor for our newsletter "The Wee Harp" who would love to hear any news about your genealogy. I guess I can't say "May the force be with you" unless you defect from the dark side.
Welcome. Was wondering where in PA you hail? I was born on the "east coast" of PA (outside Philadelphia) but after much wondering around, have settled in VA near the NC border. I serve as the Sec/Treasurer so I take this opportunity to extend an invitation to join the Clan Lamont Society of NA. If you go to www.clsna.us, you can get all necessary information regarding membership.
these guys will keep you posted and up to speed. The Forum's been here quite some time and, as you can see, there are lots of threads to follow.
