So I have been on ancestry.com, trying my hardest to get a connection from my oldest relative to some parents or something.  Was wondering if anyone could help me.  I am stuck on John (Lemmons, Lemons, Lammons, etc etc.) born in Rockingham NC 1738, Died in either Franklin or Rockingham NC 1810.  I have stories about wives, kids, parcels of land, but no parents.  If you want to look me up on ancestry.com, the name is demitrihrothgar (long story for the name).  I really want to find the link between Lamont and Lemmons, or if there is none, find a different link.

have you looked on any of the ship registry sites?

http://www.immigrantships.net/ 

this might give you some Lemmons to trace to see if they end up in NC
