I've been busy dusting off the old family tree and beginning to try and verify dates and solve some family questions on ancestry.com. I stumbled upon this site and read a few posts on it and I do believe I have discovered some new relatives!!!
My last name is Patrick. My father has tracked his side of the family tree extensively years ago. I'm just now getting into checking and re-checking names and dates now that it's so much easier.
Our branch goes back to John Patrick in 1429, but it seems like I match up with some of you guys with Robert Patrick who immigrated here. I believe he's my 6th or 7th great grandfather. My branch then follows with Jeremiah, then William, Reuben, "Squire" John, Amos "Monk", Homer, my grandfather Carl and my father James.
I'm so excited I've run across this site! I've been trying to dig deeper into my ancestry recently and have run into a few suprises here and there with some of my more recent relatives, but I'm especially interested in the Scotland years. I'm looking to book a trip there sometime this year and would love some advice as to where to go and check things out.

You have found some of your Patrick cousins, I am also a descendant of Jeremiah Patrick. There are more of your cousins here, I'm sure some more will check in as the day goes on.
Welcome to Lamont Central, we hope you enjoy the time you spend with us.

Here is some info I have on Robert Patrick 1705 - 1758
Robert Patrick came to Philadelphia PA on Aug. 25, 1725 at the age of 21. He came as a bound servant on the ship Amity from the Bideford, England. He was Indentured Servant to James Gerard. He owned property in 1741 in Salisbury Township, Lancaster County PA. and Yellow Britches Creek, PA. Between 1754-1758 he was Constable of Sugar Loaf Hundred. His son James was one of the Colonel Washington's soldiers at Braddock's Defeat defeat. Most of Robert Patrick's children served with Washington in the Revolutionary War.
The family of Robert Patrick b. 1705 is believed to have lived near George Washington and are believed to have been well aquainted with the Washington family. I read one account somewhere that said they were childhood friends. James stated in his Pension Affidavit that he knew George Washington long before the Revolutionary War.
