The pup came to us in December 2009, 2 days after Christmas. As we were driving home, he was resting on Grace's chest, we think listening to her heartbeat trying to calm down. We had no idea for a name yet!! But, after seeing "Pride and Prejudice", movie versions 1, 2, 3 or however many there are, I looked at him and his white chest looked so like a formal waistcoat that I said "He looks like Mr. Darcy". But since I don't necessarily like Mr. Darcy, Grace deemed it appropriate to knight him and we came up with Sir Darcy of Gatling Pointe as his AKC name. He, of couse, stays in his condo (rather than a cage) and roams the back "40" whenever he likes to run about.
As a follow up to the hogmanay, they use muskets to fire a volley in honor of the 13 colonies and he only last thru about 5 of them. We didn't get him until he was 4 1/2 months old and the socializing should have been done between 8 weeks and that time. So he got very nervous, was shaking so we simply left. Had to carry him a bit of the way to help him calm down again. But he sure was a hit BEFORE the parade and all the noise began!!
I finally got the time to read the January issue. Frank, you and Grace do an amazing job. Each issue is better than the previous. Thank you both for all you do.
Thanks all. Please keep sending me stuff. I didn't think I'd make 12 pages much less 16. With Spring around the corner (according to Punxatawny Phil), can the games be far behind with lots of photos and narrative to make the Wee Harp even more enjoyable!!
