As you know I make knives.  Over the years I have used some unusual material like pieces from the USS Constitution.

Since starting to do sgian dubhs I have had a burning desire to do some sgian dubhs and dirks using staves from whisky barrels.  I can get some from Jack but I really want ones from scotches.

Anyone have any contacts?

Thx,
Jim

The only contact I have is when the finished product so easily slides down my throat.

Let's all pool our spare change and buy a barrell of whiskey from a small distiller of some 30yr old water of life. I think thats the least we can do for Drac.

Ok boys and girls send me your nickels  wink

I wonder what the wood would be like? they char the inside of the barrels with torches. I would think the recyled sherry cask that the whisky makers use would smell the best.
