My Third Jacket Conversion

I had such a cool time with the last two, I decided to try another. I found this on ebay for $4.99 and paid a grand total of $9.94 for it. It is a wool tweed jacket from Daniel Hechter.

I chopped the bottom and used the material to make the epaulettes and the two fake pocket flaps above the two actual ones
I picked up the buttons in the sewing section of Walmart and put two small ones on the epaulettes, three medium ones on each sleeve, and two large ones on the frontbut it is fun looking and getting a good deal.. I will do another, I am currently looking for a green colored one, the cruddy thing is trying to find one in my size ( 50-52 ) there are plenty in smaller ( 44-48 ) I have my eye on another and am bidding as I type.

Thanks George,
I am learning. Practice, practice, practice. I always wanted a proper jacket, but I couldn't afford to lay down that kind of money on something I wouldn't be wearing more than once or twice a month.

I hear you!  I'm going to have to give it a shot one of these days.

The magic item to do this with out going nuts is Stitch Witchery!! It will save alot of heart ache if you are DIY-ing it. I have a camelhair/wool jacket on the way I am going to convert next.
