Take a look at what I found, one of our clansmen making sporrans and such in Braemar, Royal Deeside  Scotland. Looks like some goodies and a clansman of ours

Very nice stuff.

I really liked the effect of using the antler tips with the deer skin.

I have two sporrans from this chap. He is very good and all are made by hand so every one of them is origional. If you have a particular design that you would like then if you send it him he will do it for you. Breamar is a lovely place if you ever get a chance to visit and the military road to get there is breath taking. The Spittal of Glenshee is one of the ski resorts in Scotland. Not sure if you can see it on Google earth very clearly but well worth a visit and a beer if you get the chance. The Highland Games there are attended by the Royal Family.
Hope everyone has a fantastic Christmas and a Jolly new year (remember to drink sensably)

I THOUGHT EVERYONE KNEW OF DAVID HE IS A GREAT CHAP AND FANTASTIC CRAFTSMAN, MY HUSBAND HAS SPORRANS AND JACKETS MADE BY HIM.

DAVID HAS BEEN A MEMBER FOR MANY MANY YEARS. HE RETIRED ABOUT THREE YEARS AGO AND EMIGRATED TO AUSTRALIA TO BE WITH HIS SONS, THOUGH KNOWING DAVID HE HAS WANDERED THE WORLD AND I WOULDN'T BE SURPRISED IF HE LANDED BACK IN BRAEMAR AT SOME POINT.

THE BUSINESS STILL TRADES UNDER HIS NAME THOUGH THE NEW OWNER DOES NOT HAND MAKE SPORRANS.....IT HAS CHANGED MUCH.
I REMEMBER ONCE VISITING DAVID AND THE REAR STAIR FROM THE SHOP WAS FULL OF SKINS HE COULD NOT HAVE THEM IN VIEW FOR FEAR OF RETRIBUTION!

DAVID WAS THE AUTHOR OF THE "LAMONTS OF BRAEMAR" A BOOKLET WHICH WAS PUBLISHED BY THE SOCIETY I HAVE A FEW HERE AT THE MANSE PROBLEM IS DAVID HAS THE COPYRIGHT.
WE ARE IN REGULAR CONTACT.

BEST WISHES FROM
   MARY
