While doing some work on the kit my wife raised her protest over animal skin sporrans. While we aren't PETA members we do have some leanings toward proper use of nature.
Does anyone out there make faux skin sporrans appropriate for evening wear?
I can't believe no one has ever replied to your post. Just about all the Sporran's made in China and India are synthetic. The problem is the leather work generally doesn't look as nice. I have a synthetic that looks good enough for the few evening events that I do.

Sorry can't be of help, I am for the leather myself, although I don't quite like the idea of the use of seal or kangaroo in sporrans and pouches. My humble opinion is if I can eat it, I can wear it as a sporran.

After Eric's post I realized my answer didn't quite make sense. I was in the mind set of pelts, fur and such. Even the Chinese one's use leather but the fur is not real. Your wife probably objects to the leather as well. That's got to be tough to rationalize since people are not going to stop making hamburgers. I can say this now since your wife hates me already after Arlington.
Maybe you could make or have made a pleather one. Depending on how much your are going to use it you may be having a new one made every year.

Wife has no issues on leather. Just furs that come from animals that are killed for their fur only. We don't eat enough rabbits in this country to even come near the amount of furs sold.
Don't worry, I'm the only one who has to follow her rules. Like me just because we believe in something doesn't give us the right to make everyone else believe in it.
