The Andrew Lamont Young Society meeting

We just returned from Staunton, VA, where the second bi-annual Andrew Lamont Young Society (ALYS) meeting took place.   I have to say I was surprised with all the unexpected good things that happened during this weekend.  One thing was finding my great-great-grandfather's (Andrew Frank Young - a Lamont descendant) grave.

We got to know new members, cousins unknown to us, and had a great time visiting the land the (Lamont) Youngs owned, and graveyards with our ancestors' graves in them.  And some presentations of a group of the ALYS folks to Scotland.

Some of the ALYS members know about this forum (Knockdow and myself, and Reverdy), and I've told some others about it as well.

OK, time for some sleep and tomorrow to get on the photos, etc. I took.

BTW, George, we missed you.

That's sounds like a great trip to me. I'm glad you had such a good time. Reading your post I wondered if it would make sense to place a room or category for ALYS here in the Patri, uh . .  Lamont forum! After all it's totally related.

What do you guys think? George why weren't you there?

Yep, we had a great time.

Having a forum room/category for ALYS here might make sense.  I think the ALYS is coming up with a website of their own, but I don't know if they are planning a forum.  I missed the discussion of that.  I'll find out from cousin Roy Young, and if we aren't, I'll suggest that as a possibility to him.

Of course, George might be able to answer that, as well.

we have several  ALYS members here already. More would be great. I was out of vacation time and $$$ to attend this year so I could not make it this time cry

As soon as I hear back from more than one of them, I'll let you know something.  wink
