They finally got the Lamont Modern tartan added to the casual kilt line-up. For a little over $200 you can get you one. I will be ordering mine shortly. They are made from 16 oz Lochcarron wool and machine sewn somewhere in Canada.
I have two of their casuals ( Weathered Ulster, MacAlpine Ancient ) and they are pretty nice for the price. I have a Celtic Croft wool blend Lamont Ancient, but its not what I expected so I am jumping all over a heavyweight in the clans modern colors.
I will post pics of the bute when she gets in.

heres the address link to the page the Lamont is on: http://www.burnetts-struth.com/index.php?cPath=160_149&sort=2a&page=5

You'll like having both an ancient Lamont and Modern Lamont.  The only problem is trying to decide which one to wear and when.

All in all it's a nice problem to have.

What a wonderful combination, Lamont Tartan, Lochcarron fabric and Burnett & Struth tailoring, you've done well my friend !

Yes it is difficult to decide which kilt to wear. I am anxiously awaiting my Brown Modern tank from Marten Mills, it should be here in time for St Andrew's Day and the Kirk'in.  I'ts great that I am going to be able to wear this one to Lamont events as well.

Check out Tartanweb.com - they have a Lochcarron heavy weight 5 yard for just over 200 bones.  Not quite the price you were looking at before and it's also made in Scotland, however, I had my 9 yard Lochcarron Lamont ancient made by them and the service was quite fast the the kilt is amazing - machine made but still not bad for the price.
