A huge thank you to George for posting these. BTW I though you said you were going to do some airbrushing on my already buff bod.
Seriously though, this was such an awe inspiring trip. Seeing all the sites related to the lamonts really brought it all home for me. George was an excellent tour guide and it was quite an honor to be able to gain access to Knockdow Mansion. George wants to live at Knockdow - I said that's fine as long as he hires me as his game keeper. I wouldn't want much in return, just my own 10,000 sq. ft. cottage, a few servants and my own horse drawn limo.

Cool! You can actually go inside now? Do they give tours or did you have to obtain special permission? (Sorry, I've not been keeping up on Knockdow, just remember driving past the driveway of the mansion a couple of times, years ago, knowing that it was a Lamont house.)
Knockdow is owned by Peter Blacker of London. He has plans to one day develop the 7000 acres into aluxury golf course. Knockdow house would be converted into a hotel/restraunt ( I think?). It is closed to the public and permission is needed to get in. We have been prviledged that Mary Lamb has been able to get us in for private tours. 2008 she got to use it for the Clan AGM dinner. Last month a wedding or reception ( i forget which one) was held there for Robert Lamont's(president of CLS) daughter was held there.
When I hit the lotto I am going to buy it back. So be nice to me and I might let my friends stay there
