Sorry for being away.  Been a little hectic.

How many people out there go through the trouble of making steel cut oats vs old fashion, quick or instant oats?

I've always liked them and since my doctor told me to change my diet I've been making them every morning for breakfast.

My wife has steel cut oats every weekday. She has a wide mouth thermous that she puts oats and various dried fruit into and before she leaves for work in the morning she pours some boiling water into the thermous and corks it. By the time she gets to work it is ready to eat.

That's a version I do. I cook it for about 15 minutes and than pour it into my thermos. Two and a half hours later add some I Can't Believe It's Not Butter and some Splenda.

I normally would have butter and sugar but the Doc says no. I also like dried fruits but that is again to many carbs for his taste.
