Afternoon all,

As most of know I have a hobby of knife making.  On the forum I hang around for custom knife makers we have a game that we play.

The story goes that when a group of men got board with their pocket knives they would toss them in a hat.  Then thay would take turns drawing one out and you kept that one until the next time.  This came to know as a KITH, knife in the hat.

Today what we do on the forum is we normally choose a theme (newbie, kitchen, bowie, etc), set a date, conditions, and get going.  When the date approaches the names are assigned numbers and than they are "drawn" to see who gets what.  It's a lot of fun and in most of the KITHs we show what we did step by step so others can learn.  In the knife field there are dozens of "right ways" to get to the same end and seeing what others did can be very educational.

We have several craftsmen onboard and I wanted to see what you guys woud think of doing something simular.  Each persons would do an article of their craftand than we swap them around.  We would each post a step by step procedure as we went s oters who are part of it can see how the various things are made and maybe pick up a new hobby of their own.

Let me know what you think,
Jim

Sounds interesting, So your saying we would do a step by step on a project that is along the lines of our craft? For instance, I would do a SBS on carving or making a walking stick/cane..etc?

Pretty much, yes.It can be as detailed as the person likes. It is a bit different on knife making forums as most of us have some knowledge of the intermediate steps that don’t get shown.Mixing different crafts in there could really make things interesting.

Cool.

I'm hoping that a few others would be interested. It's more fun with more people.
