I believe elsewhere on this forum, Knockdow has posted about the Andrew Lamont Young Society. This is made up of some of those who are descendants of John Lamont and Mary Young Lamont through Andrew Lamont Young.
Immediately after the Dunoon massacre, Mary fled with her sons to Ireland where they settled near Larne in Co. Antrim. These last names (Sittlington, Green, White and Young) were the ones they chose since they were outlaws. I am descended from the Young line. My ancestor, Andrew Lamont, changed his last name to Young, his mother's maiden name.
They came to America in 1740. My Grandmother was Eunice Octavia Young of Knoxville, TN.
The name Sittlington, I am told, comes from a burn (or stream) on one of the Lamont estates in Scotland. Another topic here tells of where the inspiration for the name White may have come from. Not sure about Green - though there is a lot of Green over there.

That's not my site. Hopefully, Sharon will do that. Maybe I need to get that info somewhere for personal info and posterity. It would be a shame to lose it.
