Burns Night Celebrations
Permalink

How many of our forum members participated in celebrations of Robert Burn's birthday or Burn's Suppers?  January 25, 2009 was the 250th anniversary of Robert Burn's birthday.

I went to a very nice celebration, held on Robert Burn's birthday, at the Burn's Cottage in Atlanta.  A memorial wreath was presented in his honor.  For those of you who are not familiar with the Burn's Cottage in Atlanta, it is an exact replica of Robert Burn's home in Alloway, Scotland and is on the national register of historic places.

We didn't get to attend the SAS Burn's Supper this year because of some of family medical issues.  We really missed attending the event, the Burn's Supper has always been one of our favorite social events of the year.

Here is a photo of my wife and I headed out to the Burn's Supper in 2007, yes, I know that isn't a Lamont kilt.

For all of you out there who are having their first experience with a forum, this is what's called hijacking a thread.  Sorry Jim, I'll try harder in the future to keep those pesky buckeyes at bay.  smile
