I always thought the furthest back my family genealogy would go back would be my 3rd Great Grandfather, Barnabus Curry in WV.  I then found out his father was John Curry; and, his grandparents were William Currie and Sarah "Sallie" Young Currie.  Sallie's father was John Lamont, son of Sir Andrew Lamont and Mary Adair. Since learning this I have spent several nights just amazed. And just now I find all of you!!

My grandfather was a simple coal miner in WV who died when my mother was eleven.  After his death, my grandmother moved the family to California.  

I am so excited to learn more now that I know you all exist.

I have never lived in California. I was born in Florida. Lived in NC, VA, MD, and now TX.

Welcome Todd. Sorry you missed California. Coal mining runs in the Lamont Clan as many worked the Stevenston mines in Scotland.
