When at the North Texas Irish Festival I received a invite to host our tent at the Bedford Arts Fest on March 27th.

The weather was nice but a bit breezy at times but the sun was shining for a lot of folks came out.  We did not have a lot of traffic as the Scottish part of the festival was done on short notice.  it is my understanding that years ago Bedford had its own Scottish Festival and Highland games but it fell by the wayside when they stopped beer sales.  Some of the city folks came by and said there is a good chance they may start the Scottish Festival back up.

They are in the process of a $12 million upgrade to the site so it should be much nicer next year.

Here are some pictures from this one.  Pictures

Yes, there used to be a Celtic Festival at what was then the Bedford Boys Ranch. (I believe it's a city park now.) It was a nice, medium-sized fest but I don't think there were Highland Games. Just music, crafts, tents, food. (Didn't bother me that they couldn't sell beer.) Some Irish and Welsh info. and culture as well.
