He's looking good. Just keep him away from "The All Good Cafe" in Deep Ellem. He likes to enjoy good food and the breakfast there reminds him of an old scottish feast.

Onward and upward.

Woody heads with us to Kansas City for our trip to the Ren Faire. Here at the gate with one of the main reasons we (and many others) go to this faire The Jolly Rogers -

And we stopped by to say hi to Their Majesties and Court -

They have proclaimed that Woody has now visited Canterbury.  Huzzah!!!!

A couple stops at some eateries.  First and foremost was Arthur Bryants.  They serve the best burnt ends.  For those poor souls who have never partaken these are the fatty narrow end of a brisket normally thrown into the beans, fore shame if you have done so.  In KC they chop them up and put them back in the smoker in a sweet sauce and smoke them more.  It is BBQ heaven -

And then onto Jack Stack's.  Here I go for the beans.  They put their's in the smoker with the meat and let the dripping go into the pot.  This makes the most exquisite beans you will ever have.  Sorry to all the mothers out there but these are better then what you make -

Onto a bit more solemn visit.  We stopped by the only WWI monument in the country.  Amy is right there in the middle holding Woody.  Didn't quite work out :D

A couple better shots -

I will try to get a couple more visits around Dallas while waiting for the next person to raise their hands.

Yep. I was hoping he would accompany Amy and me on a Disney cruise tomorrow through Sunday but if he needs to head out let me know and I'll get him in the mail tonight.

Jim or Steve, whoever has Woody, would one of you be willing to send him to me after he's through with his current tour? I'd like to check out his kit, see where he's been and write up something (finally) for the Wee Harp. I've been remiss in my duties as his caretaker, I'm afraid. Totally lost track of the wooden scoundrel!

Thanks!

Skye. The Wooden Scoundrel has been enjoying himself everywhere. There are plenty of entries in his log when he finds his way home.

I have that little rascal, he enjoyed the games in Salado. Which may be the last games held there

I am going to try and get a write up tomorrow night but taking off the weekend has gotten me behind at work.

Steve, sorry to hear about Salado.  What do you know about it?  Anything you can pass along here?

It seems the city is making it had for the festival, the spot on college hill where we did the calling of the clan they planed a big flower garden so there was no place for spectators.

then we were told that the city is going to move the Police station where we had the games and clan tents.

it looks like next year we will be having it about 8 miles up the road to Belton and will be held inside cry
