Laphroaig Triple Wood

I finally got to try this at my wife's office Christmas party last Sunday. It was at a bar called Burbon and Branch in the Tenderloin district. There is no sign, just an ols wooden door and a buzzer. We pressed it and a decorative young lady opened the door and said "I am sorry but we are booked for a private party tonight." I gave her the secret password and we were ushered into the bar. There is a long bar (one of several) with the backbar being brick with recesses for bottles. Those that were not actually doors with bottle recesses that looked like brick.

As it was an OPEN BAR! I graviteted towards the Scotch end and asked for a double of the mythical Laphroaig Triple Wood. They actually had it and poured me a glass. This is a very special Laphroaig. Lots of flavours that are nor overpowered by the peat.

Very musc worth a try. Unfortunately, I have been told that the entire shipment to the USA has been sold so if you find some try it before it disappears.

never even heard of it, three different types of barrells I assume. Did it tame the normal peatiness of Laphroaig?

Old post but I did want to say I just finished my first bottle of this nectar of the gods. It's incredible. The Islay malts in general are starting to grow on me but this one is unbelievable!
