Burden family from Nicholas County, Kentucky
Permalink

Hello. My name is Tish Stewart. I live in Newport, Tennessee. I was born Mary Letitia Burden in Nicholas County, Kentucky to Maxwell Evans Burden and Annabel Hamilton Burden. Dad always told me we were from the Lamont Clan. I am interested in the DNA testing and am looking forward to meeting my relatives and researching my roots. We are descendants of a Revolutionary War soldier, James Burden, who settled in Nicholas County, Kentucky after the war. Karl Rosenberg, whose mother was a Burden, wrote a book about the descendants of this James Burden. Karl and my dad were third cousins. My dad was forever introducing me to someone I had never met and would proceed to explain to us how we were related. He was a gem.

Hello,

I too am a related to the Burdens from Kansas, as well as Nebraska and coincidentally my name is James Burden too... :8) there are a few people in my family that have done a lot of research over that past 40 years. When I have some time soon, I will post some of this information for all too see. If you have anything you can contribute, that would be great.

Thanks,

james
