(Posted for John McDonald) Clan Lamont Society of N.A. donated to the original production of this film and recieved credits at the end. The following is a request for help producing a 3-Disc Box Set:

Hello Piping & Drumming Fans,

I want to tell you about my exciting new ON THE DAY project:

The On The Day Collector's 3-Disc Box Set

It will include:

an enhanced version of the original 83-minute DVD

  a dual-layer 3-hour long special features DVD

an audio CD of band members’ new and traditional tunes

a 24-page booklet with photos about the band and the making of the film

a panoramic poster of the band marching off the line at the Worlds

This will be a costly investment for me, but well worth it for posterity's sake. Hopefully, I will be able to make my money back, but more importantly, it will leave a lasting legacy of the "great experiment" that will go down in the annals of piping history.

I need to raise money for this project as well as to pay for the encore screening of the film (this time in full HD and 5.1 Dolby sound) at the Glasgow Film Theatre on the weekend of the Worlds.  So I’ve just launched a KICKSTARTER "crowdfunding" campaign to raise funds.  The way Kickstarter works is to offer people rewards for different pledge levels, and it has been very successful in helping independent creative folks like filmmakers, musicians, poets and artists.

The details of my ON THE DAY project can be found at http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1600594186/on-the-day-collectors-box-set

or you can email me at john@McDonaldProductions.com.

Please check it out  and be sure to watch the video with me on camera making my pitch.  My Kickstarter campaign ends at midnight (PST) on July 15, and if I don’t reach my $20,000 goal by that time, I get nothing and you pay nothing.

The members in the Spirit of Scotland Pipe Band have given us all a musical gift that will last forever. I am so grateful to my dad for getting me started on the pipes, but I will never be able make a musical contribution to the world like some of the legendary players in the SoS band. I hope that this project, at least in some small way, will serve as my contribution to those who love the music.

Thanks,

John McDonald
