New Design from Ferrochie
Permalink

Hey everybody! I want to throw some new designs on the alter of truth that this group presides over. What do you think? Honest please!

You can get full descriptions at http://www.ferrochie.com/

I did a show in Dallas recently and got some good press. D Magazine was really interested in Oberon's Gateway. I'm hoping to get some good press out of it.

Concrete is definetely a skill. Don't discount it! smile

Thanks for the compliments. I appreciate it. The Queens and the Pawns are made from Douglas Fir.

Not sure what design work on the bridges in Texas is, but up here it is almost a race to the finish on how you incorporate a design in the Bridge.  Someone smarter than the both of us felt that practicality is beat out by eye pleasing designs.
I think that we are lucky to have such talent and skill with the workers that perform the concrete work.

Again, your sir are talented.  I want my wife to look at your designs, she may find the pots interesting, and may want to do something in miniature (1 inch=1 foot) if that is OK with you.

Dave,
Showed her the pots, she like the idea but wasn't sure about the music around the pot.  She can make, or purchase a miniature pot but the music is a little difficult, it may be a little harder to find sheet music that would be small enough to fit around the pot.  I'll start to look around on the web and see if I can't find something.  Didn't show her the gate, I'll have to give her your web site and see if she would get some ideas.

I'll have her go on line some time and look over your designs, maybe she can get ideas for a class or for building a miniature house.

Thanks for the look at your works my friend, I enjoy the talent you have and share with all of us.

Thanks again Richard!

Thank you too Eric! The Queen stands 9.5" tall and the Pawn is 7". I took a commission order for a Rook so I have to get to work on that one this weekend.

I suppose I should have clarified myself, I didn't mean concrete of the sakcrete variety.  We make it in 39,501 lb batches and then use it to pour airport runways with a paving machine.

Jim,
Not sure how many tons of concrete Wisconsin contractors pour in a year’s time, both airport, roads and bridges.  It used to be on test per truck load, and Central Lab would test 500+ cylinders in a season, that's not including those that were tested by independent consultants and other districts in the state that did their own testing.  Almost afraid to find out the numbers.

Don't worry I know what you mean.  Seeing your numbers reminded me of why I decided to come in out of the field, almost made my back ache again.

Here is a link to one our company's design/build projects, you can see the magnitude of the concrete work involved.

Jim,
WOW eyepopping.gif  It's great when a company gets a contract like that.
I'll have to send this to my supervisor, he'll enjoy it as well.

Did your company design the project?
