DFW area - Grapevine - Tilted Kilt

Talked the wife into heading out to Grapevine and we stopped by for lunch at a new local place a while back called the Tilted kilt at www.tiltedkilt.com/ .  Be warned this place is very much a Scottish Hooters.  The waitresses wear a kilt so small it constitutes a wide belt.  For a top they wear a matching plaid bra and a tied shirt top.

The food was 5 stars, decor depends on whether your male or female, 3 if your female, 5 if your male.  Service was 4 stars. Bar was 3 stars.  Overall I would say 4 stars if you don't find this sort of place in bad taste.

Took a few shots of around the place.  I tried to keep them family friendly.

First the outside and the Humvee -

The entrance, inside, bar and gift shop.  I've never seen this many TVs even in a sport's bar -

This projection is huge.  The regulars came in and had it set to a soccer game between Chelsea and Arsenal.

The gift shop -

We had lunch there.  The food was great!  Amy had a burger.  It was cooked exactly the way she ordered it (medium) which is surprising these days and was a huge 10 oz.  I had an appetizer meal of steamed clams, calamari and motz sticks.  The clams were the best I've ever had.  The calamari was cooked right.  The motz sticks were the only thing that weren't all that great.  The didn't taste like normal ones.

Great service, kept or glass topped off at all times.  Attractive but when they get my kilted lady's age I'm willing to bet maybe one of the ten girls there will look as good as her.  No pictures included due to the family friendly nature of the forums.

Jim

I have only been to one Tilted Kilt and that one was in Vegas and I heard it is closed now. Being that it was in Vegas, it was pretty much full of drunk dirty old men. OK, OK, I know what some of you are thinking, (George, Jim, James, David) I was not one of the drunk dirty old men. I don't consider myself old.

Hmm . . . per your description, sounds more like 2-star decor to me!  (Sorry, the grandma in me had to say that. ashamed

Anyway, interesting place. Thanks for sharing about it here.  And since I started my local restaurant review site seven months ago, I appreciate it all the more when folks post reviews and pics from various eateries in the area.

But 'twould be even more interesting if gents in real kilts (with bonnie knees and other bits) were the servers!  wink
