I just finished this one this afternoon. It was an idea from a friend of mine on Facebook. He wanted a kilt pin to go with kilt that he will be getting soon.
Anyway...TO THE PICS!!!

Man you could make an entire line based on the Book of Kells. You need to try the crow or other birds like using the head from this -

I have a couple of Dover books on Celtic and Norse symbols that have a lot of cool stuff, and I have been meaning to get a copy of Book of Kells, but for some reason I haven't, so I guess I just better go ahead and do it!

Thanks for that tid-bit of info George, and the answer to the first question would have to be"No", thats why I like using our colors as a back drop, it makes everything look soooo much finer......even me!!!

There really aren't as many drawing as people seem to think in the book. While good for historical sense (and some really beautiful pictures) the Dover books are probably a better buy. I have a couple of them on nautical pics for scrimshaw research.

I wanted to get a copy just for a better understanding of what everyone is talking about. The few prints I had seen from the Book are amazing!
